Claims
Resources

Although every attempt is made to prevent cargo loss and damage, there may be an instance when you find it necessary to file a Cargo Claim.  Brown Transfer's policy is to handle your claim promptly and fairly.  The following reminders can assist us in meeting this objective and help us to avoid processing delays:
  • Claims must be filed in writing.
  • Claims must be supported by the original freight bill, the original Bill of Lading, and the original invoice for goods shipped.
  • Filing of a claim should take place as soon as possible after the occurrence, and must be filed within nine months of the delivery date to meet the Bill of Lading contract requirements.

To file a Cargo Claim, send your claim form and supporting documents to:

Cargo Claims Department
Brown Transfer Company
P.O. Box 158
Kearney, NE  68848

Questions regarding the filing of a claim should be directed to your local terminal (link)or by contacting our corporate Claims Department at 1-800-876-1196.

Hazardous Materials
Resources

Transporting hazardous materials is made easy with Brown Transfer Company. The shipment of hazardous materials has become an ever-increasing and ever-changing concern. All employees have gone through a hazardous materials training course to keep them informed of these changes. We make sure the handling of all materials is done in compliance with state and federal hazardous material regulations. These state and federal regulations not only apply to the carrier, but to the shipper as well.

When shipping hazardous materials, it is important to know the regulations that apply. We have included a Hazardous Materials Compliance List (see below) which outlines in general terms what is expected of the shipper. Keep it as a handy reference. Non-compliance is a serious matter for all of us. The professional staff at Brown Transfer Company is here to assist in all hazardous material compliance needs.

This checklist is not inclusive of all hazardous material regulations. For further information please contact our Corporate Safety Department at 1-800-876-1196.

*Information for this checklist was taken from the Code of Federal Regulation-Transportation, Parts 100-177, Revised March 1, 2000.
